Introduction
Welcome to a site about the Robert Hawkins (b. 1695, Lancashire Co., England; d. Nov. 5, 1801, Havre de Grace, Harford Co., MD) family. It is a hobby site and doesn’t try to be comprehensive, but hopefully will grow over time to include more detail about the descendants of Robert Hawkins in the United States.
Only a brief outline of the lineage is currently online, but should help folks verify whether they are related to us, and perhaps go back a bit further than they were initially able. More detail on the line exists but, for now, concerns about commercialism and privacy abuse keep us from posting it. Eventually we’ll develop a password protected site, so relations can view more detail. Suggestions about this policy (or anything else about the site) are encouraged.

Genealogy
This genealogical information is primarily from personal records passed down through the family. Thanks to all the record keepers and archivalists among us! Information was obtained from a wide variety of sources, so errors are likely to exist.
For starters, note that Robert Hawkins apparently lived to be 106 years old, married a woman 25 years his junior and had his first son at the age of 46. It is more likely that his birth date is inaccurate or that we have combined data from a father and son, both with the name of Robert.
